América Latina y el Caribe: una propuesta para abordar los temas de población, desarrollo y derechos humanos

Abstract

Se expone una propuesta para abordar las intersecciones entre derechos humanos, población y desarrollo en la región. Se intenta conocer el grado de vinculación y conciliación entre los intereses sociales referidos a la dinámica y el estado de la población y los intereses individuales referidos a los aspectos que inciden en esa dinámica y estado. En esta intersección tienen injerencia al menos dos grupos de factores: los relacionados con el progreso científico y tecnológico, dados por el progreso biomédico, que tienen directa relación con los derechos en fecundidad y mortalidad, y los relacionados con los avances en el transporte y las comunicaciones, que se vinculan a los derechos en el tema de la movilidad de las personas.
