Población y pobreza: un modelo a escala de hogar y ejemplo de su aplicación en la República Bolivariana de Venezuela y Brasil

Abstract

Considerando que la pobreza generalmente se mide como una característica de los hogares y no de los individuos, cabe esperar que las variaciones en la composición de los hogares influyan en la incidencia de ella. En este artículo se busca cuantificar y proyectar dichos efectos mediante una versión modificada del modelo CEPAL/IPEA/PNUD de proyección de la pobreza, cuyo alcance es mayor que el de la metodología tradicional, pues incorpora la desigualdad como factor determinante.
