El cambio tecnológico y la evolución del empleo tras la pandemia de enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19) en México

Abstract

En este artículo se examina la evolución del empleo en México desde la perspectiva de la exposición al cambio tecnológico tras la recesión causada por la pandemia de enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19). Se utilizan datos de encuestas de hogares oficiales del primer trimestre de 2019 al segundo trimestre de 2022, e índices que miden la facilidad de automatización de las ocupaciones en el país y su posibilidad de realizarlas de forma remota. Aunque cuando se considera el empleo agregado, formal e informal, no se advierten efectos del cambio tecnológico, al centrar el análisis en el sector formal, donde la exposición a la adopción de nuevas tecnologías es mayor, se observa un menor crecimiento del empleo en ocupaciones con alto riesgo de automatización y un mayor crecimiento en las que se pueden realizar de forma remota.
