Impacto de las negociaciones de paz en Colombia en el PIB real, 2013-2019

Abstract

Las negociaciones de paz entre las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia-Ejército del Pueblo (FARC-EP) y el Gobierno de Colombia, que se iniciaron a finales de 2012 y que terminaron con la firma del Acuerdo Final para la Terminación del Conflicto y la Construcción de una Paz Estable y Duradera en 2016, buscaron poner fin a muchos años de violencia, pérdida de vidas, destrucción de infraestructura y fragmentación de la sociedad. En el presente estudio se utiliza el método de control sintético propuesto por Abadie y Gardeazabal (2003) y Abadie, Diamond y Hainmueller (2010) para analizar el impacto del acuerdo en el crecimiento del PIB real per cápita de Colombia, teniendo en cuenta aspectos económicos, demográficos e institucionales. Los principales resultados muestran que desde 2013 el país tuvo tasas de crecimiento superiores a las de su contraparte sintética, lo que pone en evidencia el cambio en las expectativas de los agentes económicos desde el comienzo del proceso de paz.
