Relación de largo plazo entre la calidad del empleo y el crecimiento económico, y el rol de la institucionalidad laboral: el caso del Uruguay en el período 1991-2018

Abstract

La evolución del índice de malos empleos indica que no es suficiente que se registre crecimiento económico para que mejore la calidad de las ocupaciones. Mediante técnicas econométricas se estimó la relación de largo plazo entre el índice de malos empleos de los asalariados y el PIB, y se constató una relación negativa clara entre estas variables recién a partir de 2005, cuando se hizo evidente una mejora de la calidad del empleo, que además coincidió con años de crecimiento económico y con ciertas características de la institucionalidad laboral (legislación laboral y negociación colectiva) favorables a la mejora de la calidad del empleo.
