Persistencia de las modalidades de especialización exportadora de América Central

Abstract

En los sistemas nacionales de innovación de la Organización de Cooperación y Desarrollo Económicos (OCDE);, el desempeño exportador de los países se considera la medida de su competitividad internacional. La especificidad nacional del desempeño económico se mostrará a través de la persistencia (stickiness); de la modalidad de especialización e indicará el espacio de maniobra en cada país para las iniciativas de política de desarrollo económico. Los autores introducen un análisis de las modalidades de especialización exportadora de los países centroamericanos; siguen la metodología de la investigación innovativa europea, al tener en cuenta pruebas econométricas de ventajas comparativas reveladas simétricas de las exportaciones de esos países a la OCDE, utilizando la base de datos CAN de la CEPAL. Ese análisis global muestra que en las exportaciones de esos países hay persistencia de productos de poco valor agregado, basados en la agricultura y en industrias de maquila.
