Abstract

Caracteriza los origenes y perfiles propios de la crisis en la region y el decisivo papel que en ella cumple la deuda externa, las politicas de ajuste que han estado aplicando y los costos y tensiones que ellas han provocado. Esboza algunas opciones de politica que podrian seguirse subrayando los objetivos prioritarios que deberian orientarlas: crecimiento economico, equidad en la distribucion, y autonomia del desarrollo.
