Automotive Sector in Turkey and in the World, Relationship With Industries, Prospects for the Future

Abstract

As a result of the globally changing marketing and competition situations, the automotive industry has become a constantly changing industry. These days, owing to the advanced technology, the structure of the market and the competition conditions has changed universally and because of this reason, the automotive industry has developed actively in the world. Since the vast majority of the operating businesses in the basic and sub-industry in the automotive industry all over the world have become the SME (Small and Medium Businesses) (KOBÝ), that has create a compulsory competition conditions and these businesses have used their own advanced technology opportunities with an innovative approach, at the same time by using R & D and innovation they have advanced in terms of their opponents in the globalised world. This industry has been accepted as the cornerstone of the developed countries and it is more important as it provides highly added value. With the total quality management and the design of model and part in the production, the automotive industry has become more competitive and from 2005 to contemporary days in terms of export figures in Turkey, by comparison with other industries, it is the industry which has the highest export rates and it is still the same. Especially, in order to become successful in the international competition arena, the Turkish industrialists need some helps. In this study, the development period of the automotive industry from the past to modern days has been examined and in the world and particularly in Turkey the consisting stages and the present situations have been studied chronologically. At the same time, in this study, the last point of the automotive sector and the export rates, in terms of countries all over the world, has been addressed. There has been latest development and information which is called hybrid cars in it. The lack of the automotive sector, which has the number one title in Turkey's export sector, has also been discussed and its contribution to employment, tax incomes and the close relations with other industries and the information about the future conditions of this industry in the category of the Vision 2023 has been examined as well. Various support and incentives for self-improvement in terms of development and competitiveness of the automotive industry in Turkey has is provided. In the present conditions of intense global competition it is expected to further increase in the assistance.
