On Imam Ghazali’S Asceticism Approach In Ýhya-U Ulumý’D-Dýn

Abstract

The asceticism that have been expressed with different aspects in Quran described as cutting the demand against the world and facing a life in Allah completely. Asceticism life that lived by the prophet and his companions described by Sufîs as the differences in perception and life style. Imam Ghazali in the world who has an important place in islamic thought has tried to explain with his own perspective what asceticism is, reasons of asceticism, signs of asceticism, frustrating states of asceticism, asceticism’s issues and its degrees and tried to guide to Muslims, too. First of all Ghazali indicates necessity of science and certainty for asceticism, as finally indicates that asceticism is a friendly lifestyle to achieve the pleasure of Allah. Ghazali beleives that it is necessary to edify the issues which are used by nafs and devil for asceticism life. Planning a long life is one of the frustrating states of asceticism. Imam Ghazali who bases on setting the dismissal of necessary things tol ive such as food, clothing, house, goods, office and marriage, grades asceticism as scholars` asceticism and comman people asceticism.
