Abstract

The main aim of this study is to point out that students may consolidate the subjects with encryption method and teachers may use cryptographic activities to evaluation students’ performance. The sample of the study composed of 33, eight grade students from public school. The cryptographic activities were applied to students. At the end of the activity, students wrote their opinions about it. Most of the students stated that they find cryptographic activity enjoyable and funny. Students built up a certain relationship between mathematics and encryption and they stated that they have realized they come up with mathematics in daily life with this feature of it. Students were asked to prepare a similar activity to evaluate their performance. It is observed that many of them can prepare accurate and proper cryptographic activities.
