¿Debe ser Texas la Referencia para fijar el Precio del Gas en México?

Abstract

En el presente artículo se estudia la política de precios óptima para una empresa pública de gas con base en un modelo que considera N demandas domesticas de gas distribuidas sobre una línea de Hotelling. Se encuentra que, a pesar de que la empresa pública importa y exporta gas, no tiene que existir un vínculo directo entre los precios socialmente óptimos para los mercados abastecidos con gas doméstico y los precios internacionales. La política de precios vigente en México no es consistente con este resultado.
