El Crecimiento Económico de América Central en los Noventa: Logros, Pendientes y Retos

Abstract

En este trabajo se examinan las pautas de crecimiento de América Central en los noventa, identificando los elementos fundamentales que marcan una divergencia con respecto al patrón seguido anteriormente. Énfasis especial se pone en examinar las interrelaciones que se dan entre la forma de inserción externa y el cambio en el ritmo de actividad. Una conclusión importante en este sentido es que, para la región, lograr una senda de expansión sostenida y elevada exige poner en marcha una estrategia de fortalecimiento de los encadenamientos de las exportaciones con el resto del aparato productivo.
