Features of Pragmatic and Stylistic Relations in the Genre of University Lecture in Modern English

Abstract

The article analyses justification of the relevance of the study of the academic genre of lecture from the perspective of pragmastilistics.Methods. Hypothetical-deductive, method of conducting pragmalin-guistic analysis, method of modified content analysis.Results. In the texts of the lectures there are strategies such as a welcome strategy, a strategy of acquaintance with the audience, a strategy for planning a lecture, a strategy for determining and explaining, and a number of others.Conclusions. The genre of the lecture is characterized by pronounced pragmastilistic relations, which are explained by direct contact between the lec-turer and the students.
