Abstract

Aim. The article is an attempt to consider the poetic notes translation in Rasul Gamzatov's "The Mountain Girl" poem from the Avar language into Russian in order to identify the adequacy of their rendering.Methods. Applying the comparative method of research, the authors analyze the text fragments of Rasul Gamzatov's "The Mountain Girl" poem in the Avar language and in Russian.Conclusions. Poetic notes important for the disclosure of the ideological content of the work, for the expression of the author's subjec-tive thoughts are omitted. The loss of the author's word expressiveness, distortion and omission of poetic notes, which are important for solving the problem of the work, significantly impoverishes the poem during rendering it into Russian.
