The Insomnia Motif In Anna Akhmatova'S Love Lyrics

Abstract

The author of the article makes an attempt to comprehend the insomnia motif in A. Akhmatova’s love lyrics.Methods. Based on studying some of her poems, the author reveals that insomnia is a consequence of the lyrical heroine’s love experiences. It can act as her welcome guest and companion: also the state of insomnia accompanies creativity, is a part of it.Results. The theme of lullabies associated with insomnia, demonstrates the lyrical heroine’s inner state, her anxiety, sadness, grief concerning her life partner.Conclusions. The author comes to the conclusion about the special meaning of the insomnia motif in A. Akhmatova’s love lyrics, revealing the lyrical heroine’s inner, secret spiritual life.
