Depiction Of Zorba'S Character In €Œthe Birth Of The State†Historical Novel By A. P. Solovyov

Abstract

Aim. Studying Zorba’s character, the main hero of "The Birth of the State" novel by A. P. Solovyov by refraction through the hero’s soul the social, epochal phenomena that took place in the Khazar Ka-ganate.Methods. The comprehensive analysis of the literary text.Results. The author of the article raises the actual problems of creating the heroic person’s character, free in his actions, in the expression of his feelings and thoughts.Conclusions. The author starts from pure Dagestan traditions in creating the images, emphasizing the positive characters’ physical power close to the epic heroes, using a variety of exaggerations (especially in the descriptions of the appearance), and the antithesis as a starting point in the alignment of characters and assessment of the surrounding phenomena, especially the social ones.
