Abstract

ABSTRACT. The aim of the article is studying the Arabic borrowings in the Ghodoberi language belonging to the Avar-Andian language group of the Nakh-Dagestan languages. Methods. The collection and description of the Arabic borrowings in the Ghodoberi language. Results. The author identifies and describes the features of the lexical-semantic groups of Arabic borrowings in this unwritten language. These data allow enriching the Ghodoberi lexicology with the new information. During the analysis, the author concluded that the Arabic borrowings form a substantial layer of the Ghodoberi lexico-semantic system, performing various functions in it.Â
