Abstract

ABSTRACT. The aim of the study is exploring the variants of Eurasian concepts of "the inter-ethnic cultural identity" in the Caucasian Oriental studies. Methods. Comparative historical and literary analysis of Caucasian Orientalism texts. Results. The authors of the article interpret the Eurasianism problem in the interethnic cultural communication in the Caucasus. As objects, they discuss the concepts of the new Russian Caucasian as an inter-ethnic cultural identity in the Caucasian Oriental studies. Conclusions. Dialogue of Russia and the Caucasus is possible only in the fellowship atmosphere of different ethnic groups, and in the North Caucasian region it is difficult to talk about the Eurasianism, if one part will make Yermolov their national hero, while another one will make Shamil: two polar charismatic figures in the history of the Great Caucasian war.Â
