Abstract

The food supplements market occupies an important share in the value chain created by the pharmaceutical market in Romania. Despite all the legislative problems related to the harmonization with the regulations between the EU Member States on the use of certain ingredients and the maximum level of nutrients in supplements, the national market has been offered products that target especially children. In order to stimulate immunity in children, doctors recommend the administration of pharmaceuticals containing vitamins and minerals obtained both through synthesis and on the basis of natural active substances. This is why pharmaceutical companies provide storage and promotion of these products in the quantity and quality required by patients.
