Leadership in safety and health management at work in courier companies

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between the type of leadership within the operational and management processes of Occupational Health and Safety of Courier companies in Venezuela. Methods: The research was of a: Documentary, Analytical and Comparative nature. Three Courier companies in Venezuela were analyzed, with an intentional sample of 21 supervisors. Two indexed questionnaires were applied, the Multifactor Transactional and Transformational Leadership Questionnaire and the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire. Results: Company E1 obtained a score of 0.2 Points, which indicates that it is below the minimum, which in this case is 0.5 points, which corresponds to non-compliance with safety standards and procedures. and health at work. Likewise, the companies are framed in a value of 3.56, 3.84, 3.72, with the highest value being 4, which allows us to infer that the type of leadership with the greatest results obtained for the three companies evaluated was transformational. Conclusions: It was concluded that transformational leadership in occupational health and safety has a positive and direct influence on performance in occupational health and safety management.
