Abstract

Introduction: this research addressed organizational behavior in bakery companies in the city of Pasto, as this factor significantly influenced their internal operations and competitiveness. It began with the recognition of problems such as lack of communication, administrative disorganization, and a weak sense of belonging. The purpose of the study was to review the existing literature and background to understand the factors that determine a strong organizational culture. Development: international, national, and regional background information was analyzed, demonstrating the direct relationship between organizational culture and job performance. Through the case studies of Panificadora Mexicana, Sertempo Cali, and Insupan in Pasto, it was evident that shared values, leadership, communication, and strategic clarity strengthened staff commitment and improved operations. A contextual framework was also presented that described the current challenges facing the baking sector, such as rising input costs, changing consumer preferences, and the need for professionalization of the trade. Legal and conceptual aspects relevant to the analysis of the organizational environment were also addressed. Conclusions: the review concluded that Pasto’s bakery companies needed to work on building a clearer and more participatory organizational culture. It was established that conducting organizational diagnoses helped to identify weaknesses and design effective strategies. A well-defined culture was presented as a fundamental axis for improving productivity, strengthening the work environment, and ensuring the sector’s sustainable growth.
