Abstract

The objective of this study was to diagnose the current state of tourism in Valle Hermoso Parish, located in the Province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Ecuador, with the aim of designing a tourism circuit. The research was based on theoretical frameworks that provided key reference points for a comprehensive analysis. Various methods, techniques, and research tools were applied to define strategies and identify the problems that have hindered the consolidation of tourism in Valle Hermoso. Among these problems, the lack of infrastructure, promotion, and coordination among local stakeholders were identified. The study's results led to the formulation of strategic actions, including the design of a tourism circuit to attract a larger number of visitors. Additionally, an itinerary was proposed to facilitate the promotion of the circuit’s offerings to potential tourists, with the goal of encouraging interest in tourism activities and contributing to the local economic development of the parish. It was concluded that the design of the tourism circuit and the proposed strategies, along with improvements in promotion and infrastructure, could position Valle Hermoso as an emerging tourism destination, thereby driving economic growth and community well-being
