Abstract

This research was carried out to produce the Digital Encyclopedia of the provinces of the Amazon Region of Ecuador, analyzing their resources and wealth. Therefore, the objective of the study was to create a digital encyclopedia of the touristic, historical, cultural, and gastronomic resources of the Amazonian provinces. The theoretical methods of knowledge were used: Inductive-Deductive, Analytical-Synthetic, and Historical-Logical. The result was satisfactory because the aforementioned encyclopedia was successfully created. It is concluded that this work will not only serve in the academic field but also in tourism, as it can be used by national and foreign tourists as an appropriate guide to discover the beautiful places of the Amazon. In this way, they can enjoy the province of Sucumbíos and its oil wealth; the province of Orellana with its abundant vegetation and fauna; the province of Napo, possessing great river resources; the province of Pastaza, with territory ideal for risk and adventure tourism and where part of the Yasuní National Park is located; the province of Morona Santiago, known as the world's orchid capital; and the province of Zamora Chinchipe, where the largest clock in the world is located
