Fasting glycemia: prognostic value in the immediate evolution of women with acute coronary síndrome

Abstract

Ischemic heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the world and in Cuba, with a significant increase in women. An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out with the aim of evaluating the prognostic value of fasting glycemia determined in the first 24 hours of admission in women with a diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) hospitalized in the coronary service of the Carlos J. Finlay HMC during 2015-2017. The universe consisted of 250 women over 20 years of age with a diagnosis of ACS and the sample consisted of 224 patients.
