Music in geriatric rehabilitation: role in training the Bachelor's Degree in Health Rehabilitation

Abstract

introduction: music is a means of expression, of non-verbal communication that, due to its emotional, aesthetic and motivational effects, has been used to manipulate and control the behavior of individuals. Objective: to explain the use of music in geriatric rehabilitation for the training of the Bachelor in Health Rehabilitation. Development: music has been used since ancient times. Scholars of the subject demonstrated the effects produced by music in the organism to prevent and treat different diseases. The professional training of the Bachelor in Health Rehabilitation and the guidelines to be followed in the treatment of geriatric rehabilitation are analyzed. Recommendations to the rehabilitator for the care of the elderly are proposed. Conclusions: the use of music in geriatric rehabilitation for the training of the Bachelor in Health Rehabilitation is explained.
