Abstract

This paper addresses the growing importance of bibliometric analysis in the field of health, highlighting its usefulness in mapping and evaluating scientific production and its impact. Based on a review of the literature, the authors identify the need for a standardized methodology to guide the elaboration of bibliometric studies. A detailed guide is proposed that covers from the definition of the objective and scope to the interpretation of results, using tools such as VOSviewer, SciMAT, CiteSpace, SciVal, inCites. This methodology seeks to facilitate the performance of more rigorous and reproducible studies, thus optimizing informed decision-making in scientific research. Furthermore, the article stresses that this proposal should not be seen as a limitation, but as a flexible basis that can be adapted to different contexts and needs.
