Abstract

Изследване на конвергенцията спрямо социалното и икономическото развитие на държавите-членки в дадено интеграционно обединение намира отражение в редица изследвания още от началото на 90-те години на XX век. Важността на тези процеси и ролята, която играят за задълбочаване на процесите на интеграция е осъзната от Европейския съюз. Въз основа на това успоредно с развитието на общ пазар и европейски икономически и паричен съюз (ЕИПС), Общността провежда политика на сближаване като инструмент за подобряване на икономическото и социалното благосъстоянието на по-слабо развитите страни-членки и постигане на определена конвергенция между държавите-членки на ЕС. През последното десетилетие ЕС е подложен на редица дестабилизационни процеси идващи от вътрешната и външната международна среда. Това обуславя разглеждането на развитието на процесите на конвергенция и възможността от протичане на процеси на дивергенция между държавите-членки на ЕС в периода от 2014г. до 2023г.
