Abstract

Статията изследва социалните медии и обяснява как те влияят върху развитието на комуникацията в публичния сектор в светлината на нарастващата дигитализация и модернизация на организационните процеси, през които секторът преминава в модерните общества. Тя обсъжда както възможностите, така и ограниченията на използването на социалните медии за комуникации в обществения сектор. Статията първо се фокусира върху основните промени в глобалните комуникации, донесени от социалните медии, върху развитието на приемането и прилагането на социалните медии в рамките на модернизацията на публичния сектор и върху опитомяването на тези платформи в такива организации. След това подчертава как социалните медии могат да бъдат интегрирани в публичния сектор, техните основни приложения и промените, които внасят в комуникационните потоци. Засегнати са и критики и предизвикателства при възприемането на социалните медии за комуникация в публичния сектор, както и ключови бъдещи изследователски въпроси.
