Abstract

Strategic Entrepreneurship has been proclaimed to be a promising interdisciplinary research program in recent years. However, it is criticized by various researchers as being biased, imperialistic or arbitrary. In this paper we intend to further develop this narrow and one-sided research program “Strategic Entrepreneurship” based on five dimensions (research question, theoretical perspectives, empirical approach, methodology, and science policy) in order to set up a more open and focused research field, which we call “Entrepreneurial Strategies”. This research field relies on recent developments in strategy and entrepreneurship research, discusses consequences for scientific methodology and argues for a close partnership between research and practice.
