Abstract

The question as to whether students with a greater amount of human capital for start-ups also have higher start-up intentions and whether this applies equally to both male and female students, is of particular significance for the broadly based promotion of entrepreneurship on the part of universities. To approach this question, a survey was conducted among 253 students of an East German technical university. The survey revealed that all in all, a greater amount of human capital was accompanied by stronger start-up intentions, but that the results differed in terms of gender.
