Abstract

Strategic decisions on organizational structures are characterized by a high complexity. In the field of decision analysis, some approaches for dealing with complex decisions have been developed. These are usually not holistically designed, but rather focus on different phases of complex decisions. The generic approach Reflective Decision-Making bundles the most important findings of the decision analysis approaches and is also implemented in an online tool. In this article, the approach is first presented and then checked for its practical suitability in a case study on the design of the organizational structure of a medium-sized company. The case study shows that the structured process supported and simplified decision-making within the group and could be adapted to the specific needs of the company.
