Abstract
The recruitment of senior staff has always been a particular challenge in companies. Senior staff are often recruited in individually designed selection procedures. The assessment centre has proven to be an exemplary procedure of this kind. Against this background, the development of such an assessment centre in practice is outlined in this paper. Starting points for the development of such an assessment centre are discussed and suggested for corporate practice. In practice, established personnel selection systems can be adapted in a structured way to the individual circumstances of particular companies. The conceptual design of an assessment centre is shown here, which was developed and designed in a theoretically based manner within the framework of practical work in a company. The coordinated development and conception of an assessment centre for a management requirement of a company in the field of event management is presented.
