Abstract

Digitalization is the process that aims to transform an object, a tool, a process or a profession into computer code in order to replace it and make it more efficient. The objective behind a digitalization plan is therefore to make data more structured and more organized in order to be more usable. With digitalization, many tasks can be automated, which raises fears of the return of technological unemployment. But it is above all the structure of jobs that is being disrupted: we are witnessing a polarization of employment with its consequences in terms of inequalities. For the European Parliament, artificial intelligence represents any tool used by a machine to “reproduce behaviors linked to humans, such as reasoning, planning and creativity”. AI technologies are extremely precise and powerful, allowing users to access and analyze a large amount of data quickly. This leads to improved decision-making and greater efficiency for business processes. The downsides of artificial intelligence are very complex and cause a lot of concern among experts. The main problems related to its development are the possibility of overriding the well-being of human beings, the lack of transparency and the creation of a threat to employment.
