Abstract

The study upon the prevalence and gravity of African mosaic of cassava has been treated at KIRUMBA and its environs. The objective of this study is to evaluate the prevalence and the gravity of African mosaic of cassava in our research area. During the study, the prevalence rate African mosaic of cassava in 10 % has been found. This rate varies meaningfully with the area, variety, the cultivation conditions and the plantation density. About the gravity level, 39.66 % of sick plants are of the level 3, 33.53 % of the level 2 and 26.81 % of level 4. The severity of the cassava mosaic varies according to the area, variety, the cultivation conditions and the plantation density.
