Abstract

The entrepreneur is a fashionable figure in modern society, described by Schumpeter (1935) as the cornerstone of technical progress. In Algeria, this actor has long been marginalized in favour of the large public enterprise. In a logic of economic development, the gouvernement was forced to liberalize the private sector, which experienced a meteoric rise, thus placing the entrepreneur at the heart of economic progress. Through this study we aspire to know the managerial characteristics of the Algerian entrepreneur by defining his profile (managerial personality, skills, leadership style and role) and his management practices.
