Factors Contributing to Low Enrollment to the Customs Accredited Clients Programme (CACP): A Case of Selected International Logistics Companies in Zambia

Abstract

This study investigated factors contributing to the low enrollment of international logistics companies in the Customs Accredited Clients Programme (CACP) in Zambia. International trade plays a key role in economic development, and efficient customs procedures are essential for facilitating trade operations. The research adopted a quantitative descriptive research design and analyzed data using SPSS Version 22. Findings indicated no significant relationship between approval time and enrollment into the CACP programme. However, lack of awareness had a significant negative relationship with enrollment, while unfavorable enrollment requirements were also identified as contributing factors to the low uptake of the program. The study recommends that the Zambia Revenue Authority review and improve enrollment requirements and increase awareness among logistics companies to enhance participation in the CACP programme.
