Abstract

This Systematic Review aimed to relate concepts between Freudian psychoanalysis and the most recent neuroscientific research about psychological trauma following PRISMA guidelines. The research and filter process provided about 21 scientific articles and one digital book identified through 3 databases Taylor&Francis, Pubmed and ScienceDirect. The results suggest that neuroscience and psychoanalysis mention similar and complementary concepts about psychological trauma as the aetiology of trauma, neurology and behaviour consequences, genetic inheritance, dreams, therapeutic labour, playing as a predictor, symptoms and environment.
