Síndrome de burnout académico en los estudiantes de medicina

Abstract

El síndrome de burnout académico ha emergido en la última década como una de las principales preocupaciones en el ámbito de la salud mental universitaria. Se ha consolidado como un problema de salud pública en la educación superior, con prevalencias que oscilan entre el 30 % y el 60 % en distintas cohortes universitarias, siendo especialmente alto en estudiantes de ciencias de la salud, psicología y posgrado. Se realizó la presente investigación con el objetivo de identificar el año académico de la carrera de Medicina en el cual los estudiantes sufrían mayor estrés. Se confeccionó una encuesta con preguntas cerradas tipo Likert y abiertas para captar la experiencia subjetiva y las propuestas de los estudiantes. Se aplicó la encuesta mediante Google Forms a los estudiantes de 1ro, 3ro y 6to de la carrera. Se concluyó que el sexto año es el más afectado por el síndrome de burnout, y su principal impacto negativo estuvo dado en la cognición, sueño y concentración.
