Abstract

This paper examines the currency board arrangements in Trinidad and Barbados during the first half of the 20th century. It analyzes the institutional frameworks, monetary policies, and economic outcomes of these colonial monetary systems. The study provides insights into the functioning and legacy of currency boards in small open economies.
