Abstract

The Russian economic system demonstrates the weak economic growth, including small business. In developed countries, small business provides a very impressive contribution to GDP. The small business created in Russia in the post-Soviet period lags far behind the western countries by the scale of its contribution to the economy. This lag is traced already during the last quarter of a century since the beginning of liberal reforms. In the authors 'opinion, this is due to the unfavorable economic and social conditions that characterize the Russian market, as well as the lack of a systematic approach to both the management of the economy and the small business sector.
