Strategic management in agriculture: modern methods of analysis, current problems and development trends

Abstract

  Strategic management is a key aspect of enterprise management.  The purpose of this study is to analyze strategic management in the context of current trends and challenges faced by organizations.  This article discusses the basic principles of strategic management, its role in creating competitive advantage, and the methods and tools used in strategy development. The challenges faced by organizations in the implementation of the strategy, as well as ways to overcome them, are also considered. The article describes the features of strategic planning in the agro–industrial sector, including the management of risks and changes in market conditions. Special attention is paid to current issues in the field of digitalization of agro–industrial management and current trends in the strategic development of agro–industrial companies. Recommendations are formulated for the development and implementation of strategies using innovative information technologies such as big–data analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, as well as the use of new management methods such as agile, lean and ESG strategies. This article concludes with recommendations for developing and implementing an effective strategy. The article may be useful for executives and managers in the agro–industrial sector, as well as for researchers and students studying strategic management.
