Burnout, salud mental y mujeres médicas en formación: ausencia de un enfoque de género en la investigación

Abstract

El burnout y la salud mental se han estudiado desde hace décadas, como un fenómeno psicosocial enmarcado en el trabajo y el desempeño laboral. Se han realizado múltiples estudios en relación con las profesiones de servicio que son más propensas a desarrollar Burnout, incluyendo el sector salud. entre los que se encuentran los profesionales de la medicina. El propósito de este estudio es determinar si las investigaciones sobre burnout en médicos en formación, es decir, internos y residentes tienen como eje central a las mujeres y las características individuales, culturales y laborales que estas profesionales tienen. A través del método PRISMA adaptado, se revisaron estudios generados en español del 2016 al 2025, y se encontraron únicamente cinco estudios que se refieren al burnout y su relación con los médicos en formación. Sin embargo, ninguno se desarrolló bajo una perspectiva de género, generando una mirada incompleta del burnout como fenómeno psicosocial y que influye ampliamente en la salud mental de las médicas en formación.
