Bienestar social y soberanía alimentaria acuícola en el noroeste de México

Abstract

La acuacultura, especialmente la camaronicultura en Ahome, Sinaloa, es estratégica para economías costeras y rurales, pero sus impactos sociales y alimentarios requieren evidencia sistemática. Este estudio analizó su contribución al bienestar social y a dimensiones observables de seguridad/soberanía alimentaria mediante un diseño de métodos mixtos convergente: encuesta a 180 productores de Litopenaeus vannamei (muestreo intencional con estratificación analítica), entrevistas semiestructuradas, observación de campo y revisión documental; se aplicó estadística descriptiva y análisis temático, integrando resultados por triangulación. Los hallazgos indican que 78% de los encuestados reportó mejora en su calidad de vida; 68% de las unidades presenta empleo familiar, con alta heterogeneidad en empleo, superficie y producción; y 82% de los hogares vinculados reportó consumo de productos de su propia producción, sugiriendo aportes al acceso doméstico de alimentos acuáticos. No obstante, se identificaron limitantes asociadas a riesgos sanitarios, infraestructura y gobernanza. Se concluye que fortalecer los beneficios sociales y alimentarios de la acuacultura requiere acciones en sanidad, infraestructura, asistencia técnica y gobernanza, además de estandarizar indicadores y denominadores para mejorar replicabilidad y comparabilidad.
