Abstract
La integración del enfoque STEM con el Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (PBL) se ha consolidado como una estrategia prometedora para la enseñanza de la química; sin embargo, la evidencia empírica sobre su implementación y efectos permanece fragmentada. Esta revisión sistemática, desarrollada según PRISMA, sintetiza estudios publicados entre 2020 y 2025. Se consultaron Scopus, Web of Science y Google Scholar, y se incluyeron 31 investigaciones empíricas que reportaron integración explícita STEM–PBL en contextos educativos de química. Se analizaron tendencias metodológicas, geográficas y temáticas, recursos tecno-pedagógicos y competencias evaluadas. Los resultados muestran un aumento marcado de publicaciones desde 2023, con fuerte concentración en Asia (especialmente Indonesia), predominio de educación secundaria y diseños cuasiexperimentales. Los tópicos más frecuentes fueron electroquímica y química verde; destacaron Arduino y materiales de bajo costo como apoyos recurrentes. Las competencias más reportadas fueron pensamiento crítico, resolución de problemas, creatividad y colaboración, con resultados generalmente favorables, aunque afectados por heterogeneidad metodológica y probable sesgo de publicación. Se identifican vacíos en diversidad geográfica, seguimiento longitudinal y validación psicométrica de instrumentos, especialmente para metacognición. Se concluye que STEM–PBL es viable para promover habilidades del siglo XXI en química, siempre que se fortalezca el rigor investigativo y la formación docente.
