Abstract
La evasión fiscal se determina cuando se viola la ley o no se cumple de forma total o parcialmente con las obligaciones tributarias. Por ello la intensión de esta investigación es analizar las principales causas por las cuales los contribuyentes tratan de evadir sus responsabilidades tributarias. Frente a lo cual se en marcan objetivos destinados a determinar los factores que influyen para que los contribuyentes del sector comercial no cumplan con las obligaciones tributarias en Ecuador, así como analizar alternativas que faciliten el cumplimiento tributario de los contribuyentes del sector comercial en Ecuador y proponer estrategias orientadas a elevar la cultura tributaria en los contribuyentes del sector comercial en Ecuador. A través de una metodología de diseño mixto, conjugando tanto herramientas cuantitativas como cualitativa y una muestra representativa del 384 contribuyente, a los cuales se les aplico una encuesta de 10 preguntas, de la misma manera se establece una lista de cotejo para desglosar lo establecido por diversos autores frente al tema y se plantean entrevistas. Cuyos resultados más relevantes son que el 61% determinó no poseer conocimientos sobre las sanciones provenientes de la omisión o falta tributaria, mientras que el 39% expuso que si conoce de este tipo de sanciones. Lo que conduce a concluir que la evasión fiscal está significativamente influenciada por el factor cultural, demostrando que la conciencia tributaria incide directamente en el incumplimiento tributario.
