Abstract

The current challenges faced by students in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) demand a profound transformation in teaching practices. In this context, the strategic use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as a key factor in fostering competitiveness within the business and industrial sectors. Faculty members play a critical role not only in disseminating knowledge but also in guiding how students acquire and apply it. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for innovation in education, prompting educators to adapt their methods and integrate technological tools to ensure academic continuity. This experience accelerated the incorporation of science, technology, and AI into educational processes, which is essential for developing the skills and competencies required in the near future. This article is based on a qualitative, documentary research approach through a review of specialized literature and academic sources at both national and international levels. The analysis encourages reflection on the educational implications of AI and the urgent need to adopt innovative pedagogical approaches in higher education.
