Sustainable development and social and productive intervention in the rural site "Pajonal del canton Sucre, Ecuador"

Abstract

Currently, university entities within their strategic objectives focus their research activities on contributing their actions in social interventions in rural areas to strengthen productive activity and develop sustainable ventures. The objective of this study is to analyze the needs of existing public services in the Rural site “El Pajonal” of the Canton Sucre, Ecuador. Method: The research had a quantitative approach, under a descriptive design supported by field work. Results: The diagnosis was made with the application of a survey using a closed-response questionnaire, applying statistics which was applied to a total of 106 people from the selected community. The results determined that the “El Pajonal” community has some deficiencies in terms of basic services such as the non-existence of electricity and water, 27.4% of the population does not have any type of toilet service, in addition, there is no internet connection. and there are no public roads that allow access to the community; therefore, the attention of the public and private sectors is required, which can help overcome these deficiencies and improve the quality of life of its inhabitants. It is concluded: That constant training for entrepreneurs, workers and collaborators in the community will facilitate better management at the level of agricultural activity.
