Abstract

This article aims to provide an approach based on a literature review of work processes, strategic alliances, local cooperation, socio-political development, and key results that will consolidate and encourage new change managers in sustainable local development. However, there is a need to empower the most vulnerable communities facing significant obstacles along the way. The objective has been to identify the barriers and challenges faced by social alliances in vulnerable communities. The methodology involved a systematic review of the literature in databases such as Scielo, Wos, and Scopus. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied for study selection, and a thematic analysis of the results was conducted. The main findings of the article revealed financial barriers, symbolic violence, power dynamics in local governance, and challenges related to the lack of training and education of the actors involved in social alliances. Finally, the importance of addressing these obstacles to strengthen social alliances in the reconstruction process and move towards more equitable and sustainable development in resource-limited communities is emphasized.
