Abstract
Achieving quality of life in older adults presupposes changes in the determinants of healthy aging. Objective: to describe some factors of the determining physical environment for healthy aging in older adults victims of symbolic violence. Method: a descriptive study was carried out in office 6 of the Emilio Daudinot Bueno Polyclinic from May to December 2023. With a population of 343 adults older people and the intentional sampling of 57 victims of symbolic violence. The primary data was obtained from the documentary review, interview and surveys and included the percentage analysis for the variables age, manifestations of symbolic violence, nutrition, material conditions of family life, physical exercise practice and family functioning. The ethical principles for the research were taken into account. Results: the age group of 60-65 years predominated (38.6 %), el 100% of those studied reported some of the manifestations of symbolic violence. 54.4% had unhealthy eating habits, while in 57.9% the standards of material living conditions were evaluated as regular, the practice of physical exercise was inadequate in 50.9%, dysfunctional families predominated in 47.3%.
