Walking the Good Living of intercultural higher education from indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples

Intercultural higher education, when integrated with the worldviews and knowledge of indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples, has the potential to profoundly transform the way we understand and experience the educational process. At the heart of this transformation is the concept of "Buen Vivir", a philosophy that proposes a life in harmony with nature, community and ancestral knowledge. This perspective offers a valuable framework to question and enrich traditional educational models, promoting an education that respects and celebrates cultural diversity and that responds in a meaningful way to the realities of peoples who have been historically marginalized. This work explores how Buen Vivir can be integrated into intercultural higher education, addressing both the benefits and challenges associated with this integration. Through the bibliographic review, a critical analysis is established between the theoretical elements and their connection with traditional knowledge. In a context in which traditional educational systems have often ignored or underestimated the knowledge and perspectives of indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples, Buen Vivir offers a promising alternative to reimagine higher education. From the dynamization of elements that constitute the coastal identity, such as: worldview, collectivity, dialogue, concertation, among others. In this particular, intercultural higher education has a leading role in the decolonization of thought, integrating these identity elements in the construction of an intercultural pedagogical model.
